Man found dead outside crashed car earlier pursued by San Pablo police SAN PABLO — A car that had been briefly chased by San Pablo police before the pursuit was cancelled Thursday morning was found crashed a short time later with a 29-year-old man lying dead outside the vehicle.Authorities were trying to determine if the man, a 29-year-old Richmond resident, was the driver of the car or a passenger.In a news release, police said that about 12:22 a.m. Thursday, a San Pablo Police officer observed a 1997 green Nissan Altima traveling eastbound on San Pablo Dam Road at a high rate of speed.The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the Nissan, but the driver kept going and a pursuit was initiated.The officer pursued the Nissan to the 4700 block of Appian Way in El Sobrante when the vehicle accelerated to speeds in excess of 90 mph, police said. Suspect in SF assault that left woman, dog dead fatally shot by police SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A suspect allegedly involved in a deadly Richmond District assault that left a woman and a dog dead was shot by police and later died of his injuries Thursday morning.
